Composer(s): Capcom Sound Team Games Involved: Mega Man 1-10, Mega Man Powered Up, Mega Man & Bass
This is the start of my countdown of the Robot Master's theme songs, from my least favorite to my favorite. Now, just because we're starting off with my least favorite, that doesn't mean I don't like it. I do like all the songs from Mega Man games, its just that we all have a least favorite, and this one happens to be mine.
Besides, everyone has their own opinion when it comes to these things, and well, this one just happens to be mine and I ask that you respect that, please.
#86 Ice Man Game: Mega Man 1
Ice Man has always been my least favorite of the original, in terms of stage, music, and even Robot Master design and when comparing his music to the entire library of Robot Masters, well, he just doesn't make the cut. Its simply a decent song that, while it does fit the bill, it doesn't stand out.

That is a pretty weak theme. I don't much remember the guy personally, but it's been a long time since I played a MM game. I'll be interested in seeing how this countdown unfolds.

#85 Aqua Man Game: Mega Man 8
Having honestly not played much of Mega Man 8, I was trying not to be too biased with my opinions of 8 in general, especially when it came to the music, because it was about the music, not the game or how little of it I have played. However, even with that said, I could not bring myself to give Aqua Man anymore credit than this. The theme is just sub par at best and is far outclassed by other music. I won't deny it has a certain beauty to it, but it just didn't do it for me when comparing to other Water themed Robot Masters and the rest of the cast in general.

Techno elevator music FTW! ;D On a serious note, that reminds me of elevator music, something I may be subject to having to listen to while on hold, JC Penney's, or maybe something playing in the menu or background of a golf video game. 2nd to last seems like a good spot for it.

#84 Guts Man Game: Mega Man 1
I honestly hate to do this to such a classic game especially since it launched the series as a whole, but in all honesty, only one or two of the themes were truly spectacular for its time and Guts Man was not one of them. It starts off weak and ends too early before it can get anything going to knock it up a notch and sadly it just falls in my top 3 worst theme's from the Mega Man universe. Good for what it is, but nothing to write home about.

It is rather short. Seems to end way too early, like it's just getting into the song or something and then nothing. lol Certainly better than the previous 2, but nothing spectacular at all. A good spot for it in the countdown for sure.

lol, thanks for the replies~ Glad to see this is getting some feedback. ^_^
#83 Hard Man Game: Mega Man 3
Why is Hard Man so low? I hear people asking. Literally, my room mate asked this as she read over my list just a short while ago. Its simple, really. To me Hard Man's theme is completely underwhelming and holds no bearing to the rest of the music in Mega Man 3. Mega Man 3 itself didn't produce the best music, especially when following the juggernaut of Mega Man 2, but it still has some very good tracks, but others, like this one, is very hit and miss with me and it honestly does nothing for me. I don't hate it, but its still bottom of the barrel of Mega Man 3 to me and lands at the #83 spot on my count down. I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but its my opinion.

Sounds like techno salsa music to me It's alright, definitely better than the other themes so far. As far as placement goes? I haven't heard the other 82 so I have no opinion on where it should be. Like you said though, this is YOUR list, so 83 is right where it should stay.

As a small note, I was only going to do these one a day, but I'm honestly too impatient to do this for 86 days, so it'll be two a day from here on out.
#82 Centaur Man Game: Mega Man 6
Ahhh... Centaur Man. A memorable boss and design, that's for sure. But lacking a good theme to really make you truly outstanding. The theme isn't bad per se, but it isn't great either. It has a mythical feel to it, like it should, since Centaur Man is based on a mythical creature but its one of those ones that makes me just go "that was good" and forget about it until I hear it again. Due to that impact it leaves (or lack there of), it gets a low spot on my list. Though, I don't think that comes as a surprise. Most people I've talked to seem to hold him low on their own lists.

I like the look of the character, but the theme is just kinda annoying to me. lol I don't think it really matches him very well honestly. I would expect something a little more "epic" I guess since he is based on a mythical creature. He was stuck with some cookie cutter crap theme instead. Poor Centaur Man. lol

Poor Centaur Man. He just got verbally raped. lol
#81 Ground Man Game: Mega Man & Bass
There isn't a lot of outstanding themes in Mega & Bass, in my opinion. In all honesty, I find two, maybe three to be outstanding to me. The rest, just fall so short, and its a shame too. I just think Capcom really dropped the ball for the most part. And Ground Man's, in my opinion, is a shining example of that ball being proverbially dropped.
#80 Pump Man Game: Mega Man 10
I might get some hate for this one as well. Because Mega Man 10 put out some great music, however, there usually seems to be a low point to any sound track and to me, Pump Man just doesn't deliver at all. It fits the Robot Master to a tee, no doubt about that, but in terms of hooking me onto the theme and all it just doesn't cut it for me. Better than the rest so far, but still a boring track overall.

Pumpy looks like an angry attendant that u see pulling into full service areas at real gas station
(yeah msn copy & paste, LMAO)
But I kinda like Ground Man's theme it has some bass in it making it more deeper sounding which every boss should have a nice deep tone to give off the fact ur a big nasty meanie..Not bubble gum poppy sounds ya know XD
Just as fast as I got into Groundy's theme, Pumpy took that joy away XD

Ground Man has a theme that would fit well if I were shopping or talking to someone on a campy RPG. lol It's just not that great and more like filler. Pump Man isn't anything special either and some of the sound effects remind me of charging up for a pitch on Base Wars for NES. Base Wars needs remade! I DEMAND IT!

lol. Base Wars nao! XD
#79 Star Man Game: Mega Man 5
Star Man's theme is interesting. It definitely has the feel of 'stars' the slight twinkle of the tune gives off that feeling, and of course it has its space feel to it. It all works out well in his stage and for his theme. However, at the same time, it delivers quite weakly, in my opinion. The beginning to me, is too much. It just bursts out from the get go and kind of peters out the further it gets. Too much oomph in the beginning, not enough to carry it through. Or, maybe I'm just insane. Hah.
#78 Magnet Man Game: Mega Man 3
The slow start, sounds decent enough, but then it just bursts at the seams seconds later and comes off, sort of annoying. I can still get into the song and even catch myself humming along as I play the game, but at the same time, its not a theme that leaves much of an impact, much like the Robot Master himself.

*wants to agree that she is, in fact, insane but feels the same way about the song* Both themes seemed a little too fast really. Star Man's sounds like something I would of heard on Mickey's Mousecapade on NES instead of a robot master theme. Too campy IMO to match the robot master. As for Magnet Man? Hard to find anything to give a "magnetic" feel to it. lol The theme wasn't very good at all. It wouldn't make me feel like I was playing a Mega Man game but something much different and more light-hearted. After all, Mega Man is all about destroying shit. XD On a side note, Star Man totally should have been wearing purple and doing lucha libre moves.

#77 Dynamo Man Game: Mega Man & Bass
Dynamo Man has quite the long theme doesn't he? But it doesn't deliver much in the entire 5+ minutes that it plays. Why is the theme that long? I have no clue myself, the stage certainly isn't that long from what I can recall, so a simple 2 minute loop would have been perfectly acceptable. Oh well, that's just me nitpicking. As for the theme itself? Well.... It starts off decent enough but as it goes on it just doesn't do anything else. It just stays decent throughout the entire thing. There's no intense sequences or anything its just... decent.
#76 Gyro Man Game: Mega Man 5
Well... It has a weak start, in all honesty, but it does build up and carries through decently. However, That's all it is, decent. I know I'm more or less repeating what I said with Dynamo Man, but its true. Its a nice melody and sets the mood that it is an air stage, however, other than that, it doesn't have any impact to it and leaves me desiring more from it.

He may be Dynamo Man, but his theme is not so dynamo. It sounded like a bad 80s movie intro theme, something make using a really low end electric keyboard. It was like the same thing looped 5 or 6 times. It was bad. lol Gyro Man wasn't that great either, but at least it was short and not the same thing over and over again. Still, both were nothing special and rightfully deserve to be near the bottom of the countdown.

#75 Gemini Man Game: Mega Man 3
I feel a disturbance in the force. As far as I know, this seems to be a pretty popular track among Mega Man 3. But, to me it falls short of some of the others from the same game. It has a nice beat and I suppose it fits Gemini Man well, since he is named after an astrology term... Okay, I don't know jack about astrology, but I believe it has to do with the stars, so this relates, I think. It has its mystical feel, but overall, it doesn't carry enough weight to do much else for me.
#74 Oil Man Game: Mega Man Powered Up
Eh... While Mega Man Powered Up produced some nice remixes of some of the older themes (some it didn't do justice to though) I just don't know about Oil Man's. It has a certain sound to it that makes it feel and sound "slippery" like Oil, but I just don't know... It doesn't do much for me.

Gemini Man was ok, but it got a bit repetitive. It didn't really give me the feel of fighting something mythical, so it is the same as Centaur Man's theme in that aspect. Both were pretty meh. As for Oil Man? His makes me think of festival music on an RPG instead of a robot master on Mega Man. I would be more likely to hear that during a Chocobo Race on Final Fantasy than while fighting a Mega Man boss I think. lol Neither leave a really big impression on me. Good thing they are near the bottom of this countdown.
