To anyone who has been to OWN in recent months, it's no secret that everything has slowed way down, if not completely stopped. Personally, I have had issues that have caused me to be unable to keep up with everything here. At the beginning of November, my computer screwed up and had to be fixed. It was only Monday of this week that I was able to begin using it again. Just a week or so after my PC went down, so did my PS3. I've worked on it a lot the past couple of months. It seems that I won't be using it again except in an attempt to save all the data on my hard drive IF I can get it to work. The GPU seems to be completely fried, meaning there may be no audio or video to allow me to save my data. My real concern is my SvR 2010 data, as it would be almost impossible to recreate my CAWs just using visuals. ANYWAY, that is what has been happening recently and the reason why OWN hasn't been producing anything the past few months.
SO, with all of that out of the way, we'll get on with the question at hand. What do you want to see here in OWN? What could OWN do better to regain your interest?
For the most part, I want to keep OWN what it has been all along. A place where you can see your CAWs in action outside of efeds. HOWEVER, if someone would like to run their efed here, contact me about it and we can work something out. The same goes for anyone who wants to run a fight club or something like it here at OWN. Essentially, I would like to see OWN evolve into something more than just showing wrestling matches. I would like to get other games outside of wrestling games to be involved as well. Maybe a Madden league for online gaming or NBA Live or maybe Fight Night or Need for Speed. Basically, it can be any game that anyone wants to volunteer to have a simulated or online league for. I want to expand beyond just wrestling games, though they will remain the primary focus for myself here at OWN.
If anyone has any questions, suggestions, or ideas, feel free to post them here. If you would like to start a simulated or online league, PM me and let me know what you would like to do. I ask that you provide a list of rules for members to abide by in your league to go along with the rules I have set up here at OWN.
Also, if anyone would like to volunteer their services as a staff member here at OWN to help out, please let me know. PM me and we can discuss what kind of role you would like to play here at OWN. I could certainly use any and all help I can get.
That's all I got for now. Thanks!

Welcome back.
I'd suggest making CAW show reviews.

I think that activity would pick up once matches start going up, I know you have had issues with computer and PS3 so that is the reason for no matches. I think you may need a staffer with a 360 since forms are a pain at the best of times, now with the resizing method of designs and the paint tool makes them a lot harder than in previous years. Partly why I actually decided to leave efeds with the only 360 based efed not really being an option for me.
I also think you may need to redo the ground work for OWN again since it started with great momentum. Also look at what you are going up against in caws.ws (granted their current forum I loathe since the posting never works for me) however their member base is huge. I think just limiting to efeds you might want to try the CAW community.
You had good ideas about online fightclubs as I am sure there are some out there I don't personally know of any but I am sure they exist. So there is space to tap into that. There is also possibly more better a gaming club since you might want to and I'd add a place for us to review games (something I might take a stab at some time in the near future.) Possibly make own more of an Entertainment network rather than a CAW network.
Also on ratedrkaze's suggestion I think you need to be careful, to avoid any backlash for bad reviews if they happen.

I've noticed that not many are willing to type up formulas nowadays since the online sharing is back. So, a 360 portion of OWN is definitely an option for anyone who would like to run it. I'm doing the PS3 side of things, so I won't be doing the 360 side. Anyone that wants to volunteer to do so can PM me at any time to discuss it.
A game review section is a good idea I think. I'm sure we all have that one or two other games that nobody else seems to play in our little community. Maybe a review or two from people here will spark the interest of others into playing other games. Maybe there is some sort of format we could come up with to keep the reviews more streamlined and less confusing for all who read them.
As far as OWN goes, I want to expand it beyond just wrestling games and efeds while keeping those the main focus. If someone wants to run an NBA Live league or Madden league for instance, they can do so. I will still be running matches on PS3 for OWN and efeds will still have their advertisement section and stuff like that. I'm looking to expand it to other interests of the members as well in the process.
CAW show reviews would probably be a rather touchy subject and could turn more members off to OWN than on. You give someone a bad review, it starts a feud, then things go bad. I'd rather keep things positive like they always have been. OWN is a "neutral" ground for efeders to come to. Nobody is above anyone else here. That's the way I intend to keep it.

Here's just a few ideas I have:
Tournaments: OWN's had a structure of being like "house shows" since it's beginning. But I think running an occasional tournament like Shimmer's Chick Fight or the frequent tournies done in Japan would add some depth and interest. They could be catered to fit a specific style, like one tourny could be exclusive only to females, another only to crusiers and light heavies, or even by match type, like a Submission Match tourny, or a Mixed Tag Team tourny. Imagine the match ups you could create? Whether or not the participants would like the tournies to be cannon with their "E-Fed" existences is solely on them of course, but it opens up a lot of doors.
More variety in the CAW creation contest: I'm being perfectly honest when I say this, and I don't mean to ruffle anyone's feathers when I do...but 75% of the reason why I never participated in the CAW creation contest is because the choices for content was kinda lacking. For someone like me, and like minded people, who make serious characters...there's no appeal to making clowns, demons or aliens, nor is there any challenge because it's all been done before. Now challenge me to create an original character based off of a video game character, or transform a real life person into a working wrestling gimmick, now you're talking. Just as there are hundreds of different CAW types out there, there are a number of different creator types. Not everyone likes to make "joke" creations (I certainly don't). The categories of content need to be expanded in order to attract more people to participate.
OWNGear An idea I've been toying around with for a while. What is it you ask? Well...I think we've all experienced moments where you come up with the concept for a caw, but can't decide on an attire for the life of you. That's where OWNGear comes into play. What the OWNGear section would be is a place to showcase and post formulas for ATTIRES ONLY. No caw morphs, no movesets, just gear. Any member can swipe a posted attire, and off the completed project in the thread the attire is posted in. And of course should the person decide to upload the completed caw, they naturally credit the person for the attire in the upload description. I know myself that I have attire ideas that never see the light of day, namely because they essentially evolve into other attires down the road. For anyone else who's the same, here's a way for your unused attire concepts to see the light, and help out someone struggling to find an attire.

The categories of content need to be expanded in order to attract more people to participate. I can actaully relate to that, as I myself don't create joke CAWs. Though I didn't feel too left out not really participating. However it was hard on those without cap cards as they couldn't really enter. I think given the CC, maybe some can help out with snaps from the CC for those that do not have cap cards. However it still does leave out some, but in the end whatever is done someone will be left out. OWNGearAn idea I've been toying around with for a while. What is it you ask? Another good point, however I'll expand on this since some are good at attires and not necessarily good at morphing. So maybe a CAW part section if we were to include this, so that maybe someone makes a face, another the body, another the attire and another the actual character development. So we get more complete packages. Maybe a board for help or something in that nature since I know myself the screwed up palette and being color blind gives me a lot of issues matching colors.

Some good ideas thus far for a revamp. Once I get a couple full time staffers to help me out, there could definitely be some of the above implemented here soon.
If you noticed, there is a video embeded at the top of the main page. I plan to use that site from now on for video hosting since it's size, time, and music restrictions are pretty much nonexistent for anything I want to do here. The show format is what I plan to use as well, making one large show instead of 20 separate videos. You can just skip to whatever part you want to watch if you don't want to watch the whole thing. Perhaps I'll throw some cutscenes and stuff in there as well. Hell, I could even advertise upcoming events for efeds affiliated with OWN in the vids for commercial time. ;D
The newest show will get the embed treatment that one has at the top of the forum so it's easier for everyone to access the latest and greatest. Sometime in the near future I plan on getting the music player back up and running as well. This time it will be placed at the bottom of the board so you don't have to scroll halfway down the forum to post.
If there are any other changes or ideas you have for OWN, feel free to post them below!

I think if you are to post shows in a show format then as well as or rather than advertise efeds advertise aspects of the forum. I haven't seen many videos actually do that, granted I haven't scoured across all the video sites out there so. However it's something you can incorporate within the OWN shows and use them as hype videos and ask others who post videos to advertise OWN using the hype videos.

That's a good idea. Promoting the showcases and creation contests and the like during the shows. I'll have to think of a good "commercial" format to put those in and implement it. Good stuff!

Another aspect that I think OWN could use is the titles. I think this could draw some attention to OWN etc. I suggest the World Heavyweight because it doesn't have a visible WWE logo on it or WCW belt "World CAW Wrestling Champion" maybe.

Could also use the Champion of Champions belt if you decide to go that route.

I thought about that, but I'm VERY sketchy about allowing titles in OWN. Once people are competing for something that "matters" is when problems begin.

Maybe do a one belt trial run, and see how it plays out and then gradually work in another belt if needed for this... o-o

Maybe. I'll put it up in a poll and see what everyone thinks about having titles here. As I stated, I'm skeptical at best about having them here. I don't want any issues stemming from it. If I were to allow titles, there would be one major, yet simple rule. The moment they begin causing trouble, titles are gone.

Exactly what I was gonna suggest, if any drama comes from it then just take it away that, would be the best option

Along with an attire formula section, what about a paint tool formula section? Formulas for the designs that have been made in paint tool? It could be interesting seeing what everyone can come up with in the paint tool. Also, it could help those who aren't very good with it to create their own designs. Being able to know how someone created a certain design could give them ideas on how to create a design by showing them they need to "think outside the box" so to speak.
As I have recently learned by messing around in paint tool, some designs can actually be pretty simple to create. Other stuff though, such as letters and numbers, can be a real task to make, especially when you have nothing to go off of as an example. If you are trying to make a number or letter look a certain way instead of "plain" it will be even tougher to create. Getting the exact thickness, curve, or slant you want can be very trivial and end up in a whole lot of frustration with very little results.
I think it would help those who are not necessarily less creative, but less efficient with the paint tool than those who know how to use it to their advantage.

What about some kind of ranking system, I don't mean for like a championship. I'd just like some form of win/loss statistics so we can see how each CAW does. I know it doesn't serve much of a purpose but I am just curious.
Edit: Something like WWE's Power 25 maybe *strokes chin in thought*

So a ranking system solely based on win/loss records for OWN? I'm guessing when the 2010 "season" is over that the person in 1st gets some sort of prize?

Possibly not sure what could be offered though. Maybe just the pride of being champion for that season, lol not sure really.
