Instead of making multiple showcases of different games, I'll just stick them ALL in here, so... Expect variety (when I get around to posting them).
For right now though, enjoy three creations from Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires. Complete with small back stories to explain who they are and how their life has been. Currently in the works of writing a short novel following the life of Bao Ren.
For right now though, enjoy three creations from Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires. Complete with small back stories to explain who they are and how their life has been. Currently in the works of writing a short novel following the life of Bao Ren.
BAO REN
Bao Ren was born into a poor family. His father constantly working the rice fields and his mother doing all she could to keep her children fed and clothed as well. When he was 9 years old, his mother passed away. He was saddened by the fact of course, but it was also a revelation for him. He swore on his mother's death, that his family wouldn't be poor, that he wouldn't die from countless hours in the blistering heat. He studied books, literature, everything he could --- usually by stealing the materials so he could teach himself. He became quite intelligent. All the while he was studying, he helped his father in the fields until the night of a bandit raid.
Bandit's raided their small village and his father took up his father's sword and joined the other men in the fight against them. His father lost his life in the raid and he was left alone at the age of 14. His village was saved from total annihilation by a passing warrior known as Ling Wei (who shall be posted later), who single-handed, destroyed the bandit group. The one's who survived the encounter with the warrior, fled and never returned to the village. It was at this time he gave up studying and took up a spear. Learning how to fight and fend for himself. As he trained and such, he was taken care of by the other villagers, who all became like parents to him.
He became quite skilled and never became bitter throughout all the hardships that fate had thrown his way. Now, at the age of 26, he lives the life of a mercenary, traveling the war-ridden land, helping those in need. He looks not for a lord to follow, only to save those defenseless, like he once was.
Isadora's Notes: I tried to keep his outfit a bit simplified (Nothing too expensive/flashy looking), to show his poor upbringing.
DONG JIN
Dong Jin doesn't remember much of his own past. He doesn't remember who his parents were or what their names were, nor does he know of any other family he might have had. From a young age, he would tell you 6 one day, and 8 the other, he had been fighting. Whether for survival or just to do it, he had been fighting for as long as he could remember.
Around the age of 10 or so, he was taken in by a rude, vulgar man, of whom he can't remember the name of, and was forced to fight other children for money. Of course, he was given none of the money, but was fed and given shelter so he didn't complain nearly as much as one might think. On the contrary actually, he grew to love fighting and would anxiously await the next time he fought. He grew to love fighting and inflicting pain on others that his face developed into an emotionless stare.
His vocabulary and social skills suffered greatly, as he wasn't allowed to study or socialize in the real world. Quite frankly, he could not carry an intellectual conversation and would, nine times out of ten, fail to use proper pronunciations of words, sometimes even forgetting to say "I'm" and simply saying "I" or "Me".
At the age of 17 (this age always stayed the same) he could no longer compete for his 'master' and when given the news he had to leave, he flew into a blind rage and killed the messenger, and then his master when he brought another child to take his room. The child survived on the simple fact that while Dong Jin was murdering his master, the child fled.
Dong Jin has roamed the land since that day, much like he would if he would have quietly left the home. Even in the outside world at the age of 24, his only goal and reason in life is to fight. Whether he belongs or not, he will charge into a battlefield with his sword in hand and fight anyone who answers his challenge. A world without fighting? Dong Jin fears that the most, as he would be useless in such a world, so, sometimes he begins a fight just for the sake (and hope) of a large brawl breaking out.
Isadora's Notes: I wasn't too sure on what color scheme to go with him so, I resorted to a black top with a green bottom.
FAN DAIROU
Much like Dong Jin, Fan Dairou doesn't know of his real parents. He does know they aren't from China, but beyond that, he hasn't a clue of who they are or where they are from. However, he does know who raised him and sees them as his parents. A group of traveling monk's found him on the shores of a beach near some washed up boards. They didn't think the little bundle near the boards held any living thing, but when a crying began to come from it, they were surprised.
They gathered around to see a dark-skinned baby. His eyes were also different than theirs. Despite the differences between them and the warnings of one of the group that it had to be an omen of some kind, the leader of the little group decided to take the baby with them.
The monks returned to the temple they came from so they could better take care of the dark-skinned baby, who had not yet been named, even though the journey back to the temple took at least a month(they of course stopped in villages along the way). When they arrived at the temple, they then began to decide on a name for the baby. After some discussion they decided to name him Fan Dairou.
He lived in the monastery with the other monks the rest of his life. Nothing too bad happening. Just him sitting up at night from time to time lost in his thoughts. He knew he was different than everyone else, but they all treated him the same as if he were one of them, and in all truth, they did see him as one of their own.
It wasn't until one day when he traveled with one of the elder monk's (for his protection) to a nearby village to trade supplies. He noticed everyone staring at him and he could hear their snickers and remarks, though they tried to remain them to no more than a whisper. Some ruffians from the village had attacked them on their way back to the temple, on the simple fact that Fan Dairou was different. He defended himself and the elder monk and drove them off with his staff. He made sure not to seriously injure any of them, as it wasn't necessary, just enough to scare them.
That same night, he stayed up all night, wondering why the villagers treated him differently when everyone at the monastery treated him the same as them and the next day he discussed it with the ones who found him that he would leave the temple and travel the land, to try and find at least one other person outside the temple that would accept him for being different. That discussion took place 9 years ago when he was 20.
On his 9 years of traveling, he's found some nice people along his travels, which warmed him on the inside each time he met one. He's met plenty of nasty ones, of course, but it never changed his outlook, even when they attacked him. During the 9 years of traveling, he always makes sure to stop in at the monastery when he is near.
Isadora's Notes: This is an alternate universe version of Darius Starr/Freeman pretty much, so, his bio was the hardest to come up with. This version of him originated in Soul Calibur 4 where, in that, it was he simply visited a monastery and trained with the monks there who began to call him "Fan Dairou" but for this game, I felt it best to give its own little story.
