Well, not really. And I'm assuming that "Graphics" board can be pretty much for all artwork that isn't a CAW... *Pastes from other board* ======================================================== Yep. I used to draw a ton back in high school... but since have moved to digital for any outbursts of creativity. Reason being? I used to really suck at proportions, and I would basically pull a Da Vinci and destroy a lot of drawings about halfway through (I believe it was him that would destroy a lot of his own work...). Anyways, I'm in computer aided drafting and design for school. I possibly could continue to a bachelors in game design. I'd like to be on the creative side of things no doubt, and thankfully one of our first classes is Rapid Visualization. Today, he told us what our first project would be, and that is to make by hand, a logo, promotional poster for a CD or tour, and storyboard a music video. No photoshop allowed for anything more than making a stencil. I have only one partner so far, and we shared a few ideas, and with the band having to be named "Subway Noise", and the CD being called "The Smell of Scream," we figured this to be more Punk, like Rise Against or something like that. After snagging some pics, I had the bright idea to do some beta preliminary drawing, and figured, hey, why not do a chick singer like Paramore? Did that. The following image isn't cleaned up very well, as it is a major beta, but I may add in some more shirt designs and a tattoo under her belly button, possibly something like Ariel had in WWE at the least. Could sleeve up her arms too (preliminary my ass, lol). So, take a gander, and give me some critiques of some things I could work on (you could tell I sort of rushed it around the shoes.) I'm open to pretty much everything but a re-draw, lol. PS: Works better to click on the image so that you can zoom in on it and see it proportioned right... >_>

The drawing is good man, I like these type of threads and Hayley Williams = Hot only thing I think of as far as critique goes is the torso seems a little long to me not a lot just a little. I also feel bad for saying that because the drawing is damn good dude.

We need artist extraordinaire Thr33x to take a gander at this and give his expert analysis. I'm diggin' it, though.

I had me a guide on the side I had all measured up to control my proportions with, at about an inch and a half per "head". She's just a little under 7 heads tall, which everything that I read said to keep females around 8 heads tall (with the chart showing what goes about where >__>) so I kept it to that. Since this, I've added in shirt and pants detail, cleaned it up a little bit more, added in some jewelry (including the Crymson bracelet her new edit has), as well as some small ink work just playing around with it. I may have to get it up once I work on the feet some more. I'll actually probably look up some J. Scott Campbell work to take a look at how he handles feet, since this is a little bit like that (used to read Danger Girl in high school...)

That pic is better than anything I could draw. Good work dude, you're gonna be an awesome drawer, I Can tell. Then you can join Blizzard's art team and design stuff for em, like WoW NPC's .

Design the anti-WoW more like it. Think Bully online where he goes into rooms of people that just won't get the hell off the game and smacks the shit out of them. *demonstrates on roommates*

I have not played Bully so I cannot go by that. But yes, I know you're Anti-WoW, hence my joke . But in all seriousness, you're gonna be a damn good drawer.

Pretty sick drawing. Since I am an artist and an art major in college, I could give you some pointers perhaps...
- Not sure but something about the way the upper body is turned and the lower body is not kind of looks strange. It's like her upper half is looking onward, but her legs and waist are turning to the right., Not sure if you did that on purpose, but it doesn't really translate well.
- I would bring the forearm on the arm holding the microphone down a bit. Her arm looks a little shorter than her arm hanging at her side. Don't know if it's me, but I can see you trying to foreshorten the arm and it's well on it's well. But I think the elbow could be brought down a little lower.
- The part where her shoulder connects to her upper body on the mic holding arm again looks a little out of place. I think it might just be the whole body postioning thing that's doing it. It migh be that the body is less turned than her arm, making it look a little strange.
Overall, it's a good picture. I can dig it. I like it a lot. Just a few positioning things that make it look a little strange, but nothing that can't be fixed with a little tweaking.

Yeah, I was looking at having her feet face a somewhat 90 degree angle to give her a little bit of a base to reach the microphone with. I've done a bit of reworking on the mic arm, the other one I haven't really. Could always measure it out and see how proportionate it is (especially if this doesn't translate to beta, and instead is completely fixed up for final).
I may get it scanned in a few and share it, but for right now I gotta write me a few RPs and dig up some more reference pics for three other band members. I wanna work on another one before I present my ideas to my partner hopefully on Tuesday.

My hand at drawing Crymson, in order to learn comic book coloring in Photoshop. I hope to have this as a desktop soon, or at least use this as a very good learning tool between the coloring and proportioning.

Trying to get into more motion based drawings, as well as working on my proportions more (I absolutely hate the last posted image by now... as well as my art project drawings ) ... But, yeah, I'm liking how this one turned out. The colors look a lot better on the paper, since it's hard finding the right markers for the job. Colored pencil always turned out to be my more favored form of adding color, anyways... that is until I can finally get an image I want to start learning how to color with in Photoshop... which, hopefully I have a drawing tablet by then... Anyways...

All of them look great so far but I understand that past work can look awful but I guess that shows progress made. At least that's the positive way of taking it.
