I was just wondering how many people were going to be getting this game. I will be there at midnight with a friend to get it. I'll be on the Xbox 360 version if anyone wants to play a match or something.

War games and first-person shooters aren't really my style either. I do play some, such as F.E.A.R., Borderlands, and Fallout 3/New Vegas (if you want to count those as FPS), so I do enjoy them from time to time. War games on the other hand provide no entertainment for me. I guess due to how real they can be portrayed is what turns me away from them. I'm not totally sure.
I will admit the Zombie multi-player mode I've heard about sounds fun but not enough to merit a purchase, you know? It seems a lot of games go the Zombie route when they want to try and pull in a bigger audience from what I've noticed. Red Dead Redemption did and I've seen various others. Its fine and all, I like zombies, but if I truly want to play zombies, I'll play Resident Evil 1-3, 0, Code Veronica and a lot of the earlier titles before they screwed up, or newer titles like Left 4 Dead (though, I honestly don't consider the majority of enemies on it zombies).
All in all, though, I will say that Black Ops looks like a good game if you're into that kind of game. I wont knock it and say it sucks because I haven't played it, just like I wont knock Medal of Honor or Modern Warfare. I may not like the source material but I wont say it sucks due to that.

As a hardcore FPS player myself, I will say this much...Black Ops to this point has kinda disappointed me. It looks, feels and plays like just an upgrade to MW2, which I wasn't a fan of to begin with. The CoD series as a whole is pretty much "Easy Mode" as far as FPS games go. It takes absolutely no skill to be good at CoD online. All it takes is the right gun set up and the right selection of perks...which is what killed CoD's multiplayer for me...period. There is no way in the hell I should be getting knifed by a guy and he's about 5 feet away from me in game, and I'm unloading fire on him. Complete and total bullshit. Black Ops lets you choose what perks you can take into the fight, as well as customize your loadouts to fit your play style. It also has a decent balance as far as gun damage goes, but that's about all Black Ops has for it IMO. When I play an FPS online, I want to be challenged, not killed in cheap, unrealistic manners that defy physics, logic or common sense. The reason why CoD is selling more then it's competition is because it caters to casual FPS players, or players who realistically have no skill. As I've seen plenty of times in MAG, you can spot a CoD player a mile away, they're usually the ones getting riddled with bullets by 6 guys at once.
