Alright, so I'm running into some trouble with simmed matches. It's hard to find a good setting for them because this game can end matches off a friggin drop toe hold. So, match lengths have ran anywhere from right at 4 minutes to almost 20 minutes for me. I've adjusted setting after setting to see what would make a difference. If I put momentum to slow, you never see a finisher and some weak move ends the match. If it's at Normal, they can get finishers almost at any time it seems. Sometimes it takes them 5 minutes to build up to one and sometimes it takes then 30 seconds, depending on how much they attack and reverse and vice versa. The stamina slider doesn't seem to have any effect this year and the reversal sliders don't seem to do much either. I've upped them so there are more reversals to make matches longer, but it doesn't seem to be working.
So, the next thing I plan on doing is testing matches with high durability (90 or above) and low grapple (65-75) to see how well that does. Grapple doesn't unlock any abilities, so having it lower wouldn't effect any abilities anyone may want. Strikes has to be 85 to get Strong Strike, which is way too high IMO. But, considering everyone has decently high strikes out of the superstars and divas, I can understand it.
Has anyone else done any other testing and had different results? Mine are quite varied. I'll have one match run for 13 minutes and rematch and it runs for 6. Rematch again you get another 12 1/2 minute match but do it once more and you get 7 1/2 minutes. It's just odd I think.
Also, had another question. What do all of you think is a good overall match length for sims? For me, I think 9-12 minutes is fine for just about any match. Though that may seem "short" compared to many actual matches, you get a lot more action on the game in that time than you do in real wrestling matches. It's rare you see an action packed 7 minute match or something like that. So, for the game, I think 9-12 minutes is just fine.
