Pre-Season has started for anyone who doesn't know! Anybody been watching at all? I didn't know it had started until this morning, which sucks considering I missed my Raiders MAULING the Cowboys, whom I hate oh so dearly, 31-10 at home. Wish I would have seen that game! Oh yeah, the Lions won their first game since last preseason too by 1 point. So, who is everyone rooting for?

I'm a 49ers fan, so my season is pretty much done already. But, just like the Cubs in baseball, I'm used to it. Just waiting for Rice and Montana to come back, and all will be good again. Also, hope the Jaguars have a good year... I know the starting safety, Sean Considine #37. His first year for the Jags, last year he was an Eagle... atleast he is starting, for now. He has an unfortunate habit of getting hurt. His shoulder has given him problems since college. Hopefully this year, he can stay healthy.

Detroit's O-line. I wanna see how fast they can let Stafford get fucked up so our eyes are opened to NOT go for franchise quarterbacks right out of the gate. Take a lesson from Miami w/ Jake Long, people... O-line gives your guys the time.

The Giants will at least take the NFC East this year. I think they might have a shot to go deep in the playoffs though, as long as the key players stay healthy. If Osi Umeniora and Justin Tuck can play all season without getting hurt, the defense will be all over OBs and running games. My only concern is the secondary and whether they'll be able to cover those stud wideouts that're out there.
I'm not so worried about the offense though, even if Plaxico's in jail and Amani's in retirement. The Giants have probably the youngest receiving corps in the league, I think that Kevin Boss and David Tyree are the oldest guys who can catch. Now it's time for someone to become the "go-to" guy for Eli. It may be the guy we drafted Nicks, it may be someone else, but the sooner the passing game establishes itself, the less of the load will be on Brandon Jacobs.
If the team gels and stays healthy, they'll be the beasts of the NFC East.

I watched their game with Carolina this past Monday. Hell of a showing for the rookies on both teams IMO. I think Cantwell from Carolina impressed me the most when he put together that quick drive at the end of the game to tie the score. It wasn't entirely his fault when his O-Line let him down and he got his pass blocked and turned into the TD interception for the Giants win. It was a really good game though. Lots of backup QBs on NYG right now so I'm really looking to see who is gonna stay and who isn't. Eli will start of course, but the other 3? Who knows?
Either way, really looking forward to this season. Oakland is off to a good start, which I'm happy about. I can't wait to see what they do against San Fran when they cross that bridge for an away game this upcoming Saturday. I just hope all this crap about Cable hitting another coach isn't true since the coaching staff on the Raiders since before they lost the Super Bowl to TB hasn't lasted very long. Al Davis has changed head coaches more than he has changed underwear since then.
