Just wondering what everyone's favorite genre of music is. Personally, I enjoy rock and metal. My rock ranges from classic rock to modern and heavy rock.
My least favorite genre is rap. I really can't stand it. lol.

Old School Rap. Anything from the 90's and earlier.
>.> New school rap = crap. I blame Soulja Boy. lol All new school rap has a serious lack of creativity. It's all materialistic crap that only centers around women and who has the biggest wallet, the most jewelry, the biggest rims, and so on. >.> Hate new school rap with a deep passion. XD lol
Also don't really like that one kind of rock where it sounds like the vocalist is vomiting into the mic and you can barely understand what they are saying because all they're doing is screaming as loud as possible into the mic. >.> Not a big fan of that either. I'd like to hear the lyrics, not try to decipher it from all the noise.
But I pretty much will listen to anything. I like rock, I like rap, I only like certain pop music like Michael Jackson's early work, and so on. lol XD Not too picky about my music. Just hate dumb lyrics and would like to understand what the vocalists are saying.

Touche' man, yeah old school rap is fine, like you said all these idiots nowadays are killing it. I agree with the heavy death metal screamers/grunters I can't deal with that either, every know and then is ok just not constant XD

I did like some older rap. But, new rap kills me. Soulja Boy for example. That damn song "Crank Dat" (I think it's spelled like that?) was played so much and most people I knew loved it. It was the biggest thing in school. Then, a week later, no one wanted to hear it again and I never heard about Souja Boy since. But, that's just because I don't browse for rap.
But, I agree with you guys. The older rap is okay. Just not the new. Sorry for that mini-rant. lol.

My least favorites would be modern mainstream rap. To me, the stuff has no substance. The second would be modern emo/punk for the same reason.

My favorite is probably rock/metal though I am getting into film scores more now which is harder to classify to a genre. Techno and industrial music also and some rap mainly older stuff. Least favorites are probably new rap, and country music.

I listen to just about everything, however my least favorite type of music is anything that is associated with Celtic dance. I just find it annoying.

I absolutely WILL NOT listen to Opera. Other than that? Doesn't matter to me. Favorite? Rock, all kinds. Doesn't matter if it's "classic", 80s big hair, punk/emo, death metal, alternative, or whatever other classification you wanna give it. I love rock. XD I listen to everything from Aerosmith, AC/DC, Pantera, Ozzy, Black Sabbath, Linkin Park, Breaking Benjamin, Mudvayne, Slipknot, Cradle of Filth, Nightwish, Within Temptation, Evanescence, Nirvana, Metallica, whatever. If it's Rock, I'll probably listen to it. XD Least favorite as I said is Opera. I CAN NOT STAND OPERA! Nor do I plan to change that opinion by listening to it. I like a lot of other genres too. Really love movie scores like LOTR, Spiderman 1-3, Transformers, Elektra, Daredevil, mostly action/superhero type movies. Anything with a lot of orchestra type music simply because I think orchestra music kicks ass because, to me, it gives off an "epic" vibe. Rap I like. As for what people classify as "hardcore" rap I don't care for. I can listen to guys like TI, Kanye West, 50 Cent, etc. as far as rappers go today but older rap I'll listen to like Bone, Too Short, DMX, and guys like them. People like Missy Elliot, Queen Latifah, and Mystikal get on my nerves though. I grew up on Country, so I do listen to a lot of it. I haven't listened to much the past couple of years, but there are many, many artists I love listening to in Country. Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks, Clint Black, George Strait, Big & Rich, Brooks & Dunn, Lonestar, Faith Hill, Reba McIntyre, and of coure Johnny Cash just to name a few. Then there is Techno/Dance/Trance/Industrial/whatever else kids call it these days. I listen to some of it. Makes me headbang Night at the Roxbury style. XD Don't know any artists or anything, I just listen to it if I happen to catch a kick ass beat. Then there is alternative/pop music. I enjoy listening to it, especially 90s (Addy knows what I'm talkin' bout XD). I listen to some of the stuff nowadays, but not a lot. Mostly stick to Rock, but I'm open to pretty much anything but Opera. How else do you discover new music you'll like if your not? Probably why I got over 250GBs of music with everything you can think of in my library. ;D

I love 90's rap and classic rock, but I can't stand with those posers who claim they do make rap. Old school was the true sh*t.

I speak on behalf of myself and my brother Thr33x in saying that musically we're ALL OVER THE PLACE. It kinda helps that we're both Musicians as well, lol. If it sounds good and catches our ear, we'll listen to it. But our 1st love has and always will be "Electronica". That's the generalized title given to all musics made through digital as opposed to traditional acoustic instruments. 3X's vice is Drum & Bass, and mines is Trance, though neither of us are limited to just those genres. He's produced some Trance tracks, some House, some Breaks and so on, as have I put together a few D&B songs here and their, as well as the other mentioned styles. But for the most part we stick to what we do best. As far as particular genres of other music, my fave artists are as followed:
Metal: Killswitch Engage, Hatebreed, As I Lay Dieing, Twelve Tribes, Lamb Of God, Bathory, Dimu Bogir, Amon Amarth, E. Town Concrete
Rock: Creed, Nickelback, Rise Against, The Killers, Coldplay
Rap: R.A. The Rugged Man, Wu Tang, Common, N.E.R.D., D-Block, T.I., The Streets, Lady Soveriegn, Dynamite M.C., anything considered "Underground" (Meaning none of that MTV "Sucka Free Sunday" shit)
R&B/Soul/Neo Soul: Corrine Bailey Ray, Mary J. Blige, Maxwell, James Brown, Amarie, Neyo (His last release was off the chain)
Electronica: The Prodigy, Paul Oakenfold, Ferry Cortsen, Nathan Profitt, Goldie, Fatboy Slim, Artificial Intelligence, Omar Satana, DJ Tiesto, Faithless, anything from Ministry Of Sound, Good Looking Records or Planet Perfecto.
And that's not even scratching the surface of my personal music tastes...
