After much reading and some trial and error, I have found out that my slim PS2 model, a SCPH-79001, does not work with thumb drives. However, Skull just so happened to have a different model, a SCPH-70012, that thumb drives work just fine on. I will have to use his for saves, which will not be an issue. I just found this useful knowledge to share for all still running on a PS2 system whether it's for an efed or just for any save transferring in general that you will be doing.

I coulda told you that, lol. I have the Silver Slimline SCPH-79001 PS2, whereas 3X has 2 Slimline Black SCPH-70012 models. Hence is why when I need to make or retrieve a save I'll use one of his. If I had initially known, I would have just bought a refurbished SCPH-70012.

I'm still confused as to why the thumb drive didn't work with Bryan's PS2. I mean, his is newer than mine is.

I thought it was just the thumb drives were not compatible and that only certain brands would work with it. Trial and error and wasted money on thumb drives made me try a different PS2 and that's how I figured all this out. A lesson learned for me. Hopefully it will save others some hassle and money in case they run into the same problem.
