So, the Rumors Pyro posted got me thinking about this. Basically, tell me what you would have in your "perfect" wrestling game. You can use inspirations from past wrestling games, no matter if it's the SvR series, FPR, or any other. Anything you would want in your game and how you would want it to play. Include anything and everything! What would your perfect wrestling game be?

Would love to have the 500 caw/edit slots of FPR for sure A lot more attire choices and leave out the silly bullcrap like the bunny ears and monster paw boots stuff like that Bring back CAB, instead of being stuck with WWE belts >-<
will come back with more ideas XD

I just have a few Ideas for the CAW Part of it... - There be some sort of mirror option for designs - Being able to turn designs diagonally - You be able to change the size of the design to certain sizes by rotating the Right analog stick

Lol, If I go into Game Design I'm going to try to do this.
1.) Unlicensed. Let the imagination go wild with gimmick ideas, plus it furthers the...
2.) Create a Wrestler. This no-doubt increases the life time of any game period... this game is very evident. I don't know about you, but I hardly play SDvR simply because it becomes tediously boring. The high customization range is what keeps me hooked and the possiblities that I can come up with. When I retire from E-feds, I don't think I'll be as hooked to moveset tweaking, but we could see an impressive roster from me, instead of a shallow pool of names.
Customization would be the absolute selling point. The unlicensed, imagined characters the game ships with would be there for eye-candy/storyline bits for those that will play the game, as well as to help with dynamics such as an expansive story mode, including DLC shipments w/ new characters. Multiple voice acting for CAWs, even allow women storylines.
Graphics: embrace the two powerhouse systems, although if I had a choice, it'd be single SKU on the PS3. Reason being, Blu-Ray storage space, plus the mandatory HDD on all systems. I could do a lot more with it, including my CAW slots idea. But, yeah, graphics w/ true sweat and blood shaders, dynamic liquid flowing/smearing, dynamic cloth. This would also give the benefit of realistic animation with no clipping, as a physics engine would have to be licensed for a lot of this. Could you imagine Havok physics in this game? To help slam and grapple animations vary, so it doesnt' clip, and makes it all look realistic? Or, for when weapons come into play, things like Star Wars: The force unleashed system for destruction? Qore did a huge story on this not too long back, it's far more advanced than say those of Half-Life 2.
Sound: Better wrestler sounds, pretty much other standard shit. No need to break brains over that... other than licensed music, as well as import your own tunes.
Customization: -Unlimitied slots. Tony Hawk's pro skater on PS2 is something that I had seen do this, but each Customized skater was it's own seperate file on a memory card. PS3 could do this with the HDD. Each created wrestler is a 20MB file, that could even be shared like saves. Including having their music with them. -Create your own tights: Again, from the face uploadings of the Hawk games. Send it in to our system, an admin can check over designs to prevent ludeness, and you get the file back all set and skinned on your character. Could work for tattoos, tights, trunks, the works. -More varying stock designs, simple enough. Although, in that case, I think 64, maybe 96 layers would be all that is needed. -More photorealistic faces, with customizable sections of the face for skin, instead of stock make-ups. Bring back the heavy load of morphing templates too. -Morphing that you can actually see making a difference. On PS3, I can hardly tell women cheek morphings... -Color systems I can see being like SDvR gbecause those are efficient to me. Maybe add more multicolor deals. -Create an entrance/Taunts: Be able to create your own stage taunts, plus a massive load of stock animations. Again, the advantage of Blu-Ray/HDD. Lighting colors, the works. Choose what lights you want ( I think Raw2 on the Xbox did this...). -CAF I wouldn't see being necessary because we would constantly be adding in moves and capturing as many moves as possible to put in, plus, with the physics system, there'd need to be some good transitioning in. Although, I think the physics system could so help this year's CAF. -Moves upon moves, upon moves. Different grapple/strike catagories, including weak and strong. Save the bigger moves so they'll be hit later in the match when they have the most effect, instead of a no-selling CAW getting right up from a spinebuster.
Gameplay: -Bye bye SS moves. Tug of war back in, as well as a button mini-game that can help crawl to the ropes, or possibly reverse when it's finally time to tap out (mostly for finisher submissions) -Normal match submissions (ab stretches, mostly) are the sliding bar deal last seen in 06. -Earning your way into the bigger grapples, mostly so no more no-selling. -Storable finishers/finisher combos. IE: Five moves of doom, 2 moves of doom, kick to gut/finisher, those types of things. -Major gimmick matches: Barbed wire (to showcase the liquid shaders/physics), Extreme matches, submission, iron man, last man standing, i quit, steel cage, steel asylum, steel elimination, royal rumble, inferno, etc. Being unlicensed means women in all matches as well (like Moose/Mickey Knuckles & ODB).
-Customizable attributes + RELEVANT perks.

My game is already will in the works and finally nearing completion after what...5 years? LOL. It's called Pro Wrestling X, and it's a modder's wet dream. It, much like JP's idea is an unlicensed title, and will be a PC only game. The game will be shipped with every tool you'll need to be able to pretty much build your own wrestling fed from the ground up. Wrestlers, sets, moves...the works. It'll have a Fire Pro like database of moves (Something along the lines of over 1500) and some pre-made characters out of the box. But you'll be able to make new characters from the ground up. The fact I like most about this process is that the game does away with "layering" parts on models. It's all done via skinning and meshing, which pretty much is limited only by your imagination and your knowledge of such programs as Photoshop. Here's an example... This is one of my Sims on The Sims 2. Her ink layout is ENTIRELY custom made by me. The Sims 2 uses the same format, multiple textures over a wireframe mesh. Now imagine me putting something like this on a PWX game model, with and equally elaborate wrestling attire. Yea, you get the idea. Same goes for the meshes of the ring, the set, EVERYTHING. You could spend hours just modding the damn thing and never actually see the game in motion. Lord knows I'll be doing so for a good month after it comes out. Needless to say when PWX comes out, it'll be the last wrestling game I ever by...at least until they come out with a sequel. But given the sheer level of customization that you'll see, and the amount of user created content you'll see, I doubt they'll need to. And that's not even going into the mods to moves. If you have a meshing program like Poser 7, or perhaps whatever tool comes with the game, you can rip the meshes, load them into the program of choice, and alter the animation. Hell, you can make your OWN damn animations if you have the patience. Wanna make that Jack Evans 1080? Go right ahead. Want a true to form Ganso Bomb? Tweak the animations of a Powerbomb and and combined them with the drop of a Tombstone. BAM!!! Of course this is only for people who have experience with meshing and skinning, so naturally not everyone will get into the game at 1st. But best your ass I'll be retiring my SVR creation and moving exclusively to PWX. You'd also be able to use the meshing tools to create varied body types. The possibilities are frackin' endless. Ok, I'm gonna go back to Youtube and mark out at some more PWX video now.

See, haven't been impressed by that game. I hate the animations and transitions compared to SDvR, and the fact that it's rarely updated just makes you wonder if this will ever come out. I think it's far too ambitious for an independent project.

I've been following PWX for about the past 3 years now. When I first heard about it, I was quite excited. But now? It's looking like the game will never come out. It's been in the making for over 6 years now and all Dave ever talks about in his emails are the new people he has ties with in the wrestling industry in Canada now. There is hardly anything about the actual game that he talks about anymore unless it's money related. Gameplay vids are few and far between. To me, the move animations I have seen have been far from impressive as well. It's basically a game that started being created 6 years ago and should have come out 5 years ago at the latest. That's just my opinion though. I'm hoping it is much more impressive than I expect it to be so there is actually a good alternative to SvR. I think the fact it is PC only will limit it's marketability however, especially to people like myself that enjoy consoles and rarely play games on the PC.

well i wouldnt hold your breath over PWX looks good on paper but since he lost all his backers money wise id say it will be another 5 yrs before u even get a demo since i was supposed to get mine last yr and its still not here. even homebrew wrestling has a playable demo for christ sakes. i think dave is too interested in the new contacts he has made from within the game/wrestling world to finish up the game and most of the programers have gotten sick of it and stopped making new adds to the game. but if it ever came out it would be a nice add to the game list but be far from the last wrestling gmae i would have to buy since i have been modding every other game i play on the computer for about 10 yrs now, so PWX wouldnt be a hard game to mod for since TES4 was the hardest i have modded so far and it was a breeze.
