I'm skeptical of this so far. Until I see it on IGN, I'm not going to entirely believe this... but for those that have a PS3? This looks like a godsend with the creative potentials. I can't really fathom why they wouldn't have 360 listed in there though... unless it has something to do with the DLC bit. But honestly, if this is true... then it's about damn time the developers started listening to us. The outcry for a patch to fix this broken attribute/ability system must have really opened their eyes.

I don't know. It'd be pretty sweet if it was true, but I'd be kind of skeptical about it too.
>.> My question would be if they would charge for the DLC updates every month, cause that would kind of piss me off a little bit. They most likely would charge cause they can't be like LittleBigPlanet and have some free DLC.

Thanks for the intelligent input, MG *rolls eyes*...
I don't know. Assuming this *could* be true... I'd almost see it like those bullshit Street Fighter attire packs they keep releasing at an almost weekly pace. $3.99 for a few things. What I hope though, is that the stuff gets added Burnout style, where it already comes in a patch or something, and you basically just buy the key to unlock it (most Burnout Paradise DLCs clock in at 100 KB). Which, of course, means everything would be pre-made already and capable of having been on the disk and they're just looking to rip extra money out of us.

I doubt that this is true at all, tried searching their website and nothing. Also it sounds WAY too good to be true. Also with WWE going PG13 now I highly think they'd call it "The attitude is back" only thing that would have made this thing better had you received it on April 1st. Seriously 200 superstars is more than WWE's entire roster I think and since PS3 only has 32 layers per CAW I am realy skeptical that they'd add in more create modes for it such is create a taunt? who cares about that anyway? and Create a Set? just doesn't make any sense at all. Googled it and another email got it too i43.tinypic.com/30acfhf.png

Yeah, only brought it up cuz multiple people have gotten the email. I searched THQ's site to no avail too. More or less, I'm waiting until it comes up on IGN to get excited about it, but this could be a good spot for some intelligent discussion instead of one word bashes. Especially since a lot of this, aside from the missing 360 component, does sound too good to be true.

Yep probably worth making a thread of things we discussed the other day on msn like 20mb CAW files and unlimited slots etc might be interesting to see what we all think SVR could need.

<.< SvR 2010 needs Season Mode to return. I liked seeing my CAWs actually interact with others outside of the ring. Maybe that's what the SmackDown! Hotel story mode would be. Of course, with that, we need a good amount of voice overs for our CAWs. lol Some with actual unique voices instead of 5 or 6 almost similar ones.
I wouldn't mind something like TNA iMPACT had, minus the fictional character becoming reality. Just liked the overall feel of that storyline, if you exclude that you're supposed to your CAW as Suicide with amnesia.. Would kind of feel like a real version of an e-fedding enviroment in video game form to have something like iMPACT's story mode.

Personally I liked SYM where you could put your CAWs in season mode I remember the second time doing it I had to beat my CAW for the title and that was a cool thing for me. I'd love a booking mode so that I could book things like my CAWs attacking each other etc. That would be cool. *raises eyebrow and ever so subtly shouts* Ya listening Pyro? Booking mode.

Never! That waits until I get my game design degree and hire A.Cee for this... >_> Just remember Pyro. I don't come cheap. LOL. As for this e-mail. I highly doubt it's real/true. Because THQ is too naive to give the fans what they want. It would be nice if they went back to their roots. Like a mix of No Mercy and HCTP. Because I still think HCTP had the best C-A-W mode out of all the SvRs. But my eyebrow went up with the whole 200 superstars thing, and update every month. I mean we all know THQ is lazy as shit, and wouldn't put in that kind of effort. At least not the kind of effort it would take to pull that bit off. I don't see them bring back Create-A-Taunt. It was a useless feature when it was in IMO. And I don't see them bring in Create-A-Set. Again I don't see them putting in the kind of effort, and if they do expect for other parts in the game to suffer horribly. As they can't do something new with out taking something out. E.I. put in Highlight Reel take out Create-A-Belt, or put in the Inferno Match take out the Buried Alive Match, and my favorite is add some new moves then take out a lot of old moves. So I really don't want them to add anything new to SvR 2010. Just improve upon what they have. I mean the only thing that's probably true in that e-mail is. You will see the return of Road to Wrestlemania with five new stars and new stories. lol. Everything else I will have to see it to believe it. Now would it be nice if all that was true. Hell Yeah. But I for one will wait til late August to see what's what. Since I think that's around the time they start releasing info on the SvR games.

I think it's something akin to create a arena.

I see. lol I guess I was taking the term 'set' too literally. I'd have to agree with A.Cee about this too. I don't see THQ putting much effort in letting us create our own arena. I could easily see it being full of glitches and having the possibility of being prone to freezing when in use. It'd be cool to create our own arena, I just don't see it happening on a Smackdown game. Makes me even more skeptical about this being real.

If all of this turns out to be true, that would be fantastic! As for Create-A-Set? If Acclaim could do it on WWF Attitude, I would hope that THQ could do it on their 11TH game in the SD! series. Personally, I would love to see a mixture of the SD! 2 Season mode where it was endless and it showed pretty much everyone on the roster in random storylines. Just an upgraded version of that. And, ya know, MULTIPLAYER like it was. It'd be kickass to have a multiplayer online season mode. All they gotta do is separate it up into clans. It'd be funny as hell if everyone "lived" in the SD! Hotel to allow interaction outside the arena. XD But, then they would be too much like efeds. They need to bring back the old submission system too. That's a big time gameplay issue that needs addressed if you ask me. It'd be nice to see the old moves they have taken out over the years back in the series as well. Just say screw the DS, PSP, and PS2 and make it all strictly next-gen so they don't have to tone it down so much for other platforms. Anyway, it'd be nice if all the stuff in the email turns out to be true. I'm gonna end right here though before I go on a rant of what I would want to see in the series. XD

The only thing true is that PS2 is screwed this year as they are concentrating more on next/current gen systems.. Not sure about PSP/DS statuses yet

The PS2 platform isn't dead yet. Keep that in mind. And they said in the email "Multiple Platforms". That usually means all platforms available when a game is announced for multiple platforms. THQ isn't that dumb to abandon the PS2 yet, seeing as there's still more of them in circulation then 360s, PS3s and Wiis combined. Of course the PS2 would suffer as far as DLC and storage naturally, but of course it'd benefit from being ripped to shreds and put back together by us modders, so much like 2009 it'd be a double edge sword. But that's of course "if" this announcement is true. Of which I'm not to sure of. THQ usually doesn't release any info of the next game until late April-early May. THQ's all about making money. And discontuning the PS2 SKU before Sony lays the system is bad business. Why do you think EA still releases games for the system? Because there's still a market for them. THQ will continue to make the SVR series for PS2 as well as the current gen systems until either the market dries up for PS2 games or Sony puts it to pasture. And the latter will happen LONG before the the market loses it's steam.
