Well, with Saints Row 3 out now, I figured why not post my playthrough of the first one over here? Might as well post it somewhere! Heh.
Note: On A lot of these early missions, I am replaying these missions through the Movie Theaters found throughout the game that lets you replay missions, strongholds, and cut scenes, hence having the money I do as well as the weaponry. Although, I'd have the weaponry anyway, considering I always, ALWAYS, complete activities before ever touching the main story.
The character I play as in the video is based off of one of my original characters known as Rian Turunen who is married to another person's character known as Makayla Turunen, also known as her name Misery.

Part One - Third Street Saints
Episode #01: Canonized & Back To Basics This is just the introduction to the game, showing the opening cut scene, and the first two missions. Pretty standard much like all games beginnings. Also, at the end I toss in the alternate cut scene you get if you fail to beat all the Saints that are charged with canonizing you. You don't fail the mission, you just get less than what you would if you passed. ($1,000 if passed, $200 if failed). Canonized Rewards: $200 or $1,000, Natural Leader Level 1 (1 Homie at a time), Wheel Woman (callable homie) Back to Basics Rewards: $500, Saints Row Loft (Crib) Episode #02: Abandoned Storefront & Reclamation Now for the next, and final batch of the Prologue before we take on the three gangs in the story line. First up is the first strong hold of the game which is under control by the Los Carnales, an abandoned store in Athos Bay. Nothing too hard about it, Troy gives you a call and tells you about it and you head over there to clear it out. Abandoned Storefront Rewards: Athos Bay After that, its mission time. Troy got wind of a major turf war going on between all three gangs and thinks it perfect for the Saints to get in on it to take back the Row completely. Reclamation Rewards: Harrowgate

Those poor guys in the beginning. lol Don't they know guns kill people? I had to laugh at them a couple of times for stuff that happened in the cinematic. The fight was entertaining when you had to go against all the other gang members as an initiation. I don't think I would like the drive-by too much though. Having to stop and go while they keep shooting. I'm sure running over people would have been fun, but I think I would rather have been doing the shooting. Not sure if you were able to or not. XD I think the cutscene near the middle of the vid played again at the end. That, or the player screwed up on me and played it again. lol Those poor fellas in that warehouse. You went all gangsta on 'em, turning ya gun sideways and shit son! XD That chase looked a little tough having to dodge the traffic and stuff. Seems like if you weren't on his ass in the car, something would get in your way and you'd have to find another route. It was funny as hell when he bailed out and you ran his ass over though. lol I thought it was ironic that you were taking an Aqua to the docks for the next mission. You made a helluva turn in that thing while heading to the checkpoint, damn near 90 degrees in an SUV. That takes some talent! Had to go shoot some suckas but you almost got ran over at one point. lol Car came around a corner and if wasn't for some boxes slowing them down you would have been flattened. It's funny how easily you lost the cops not long after that by going into that shop. Car comes out same color and everything but the cops just stop chasing you. They must be related to Chief Wiggim. lol Johnny cracked me up when he was all like "Bullets still kill mothafuckas right? Doesn't get much simpler than that." Was funny when Lin punched the shit outta that one guy for calling her a Ho at the end too.

I abuse the emergency brake for turns. ;D Sometimes leads to bad things though. >.> But it's a habit I can't break. Been doing it since early GTA days. XD Going to add a couple for part two here. Not the entire thing, cause that would be insane. XD
PART TWO - WESTSIDE ROLLERZ Street racing and hijacking specialists, the Westside Rollerz have gained territory in Stilwater much faster than a group of punks from the suburbs should... Someone must be financing them. - From the games "Help" menu under "Gangs" Episode #03: Mission #01 - Stacking The Deck Note: This video was saved differently than my previous videos so it may appear different. In this episode, we find that Lin has indeed infiltrated the Westside Rollerz and is now a 'member' of them, though, she seems to be only a lowly foot soldier at the moment - which makes sense. After the two Rollerz with her leaves, Rian comes into the picture and she tells him what she knows, its not a lot, but its enough to go on and should be more than enough to start taking apart the Rollerz. This missions is quite boring. Not to mention it is very easy considering the vehicle you're in versus the vehicles of the Rollerz. Some of the Rollerz cars are very fragile, at least in my opinion, and all it takes is a well placed ram from the big rig to destroy it. Rewards: $500 Episode #04: Mission #02 - Samson's Surprise In this episode, we get to see what Samson has done to the Rollerz cars. Lin tells Rian, while dancing with him in a club, that he is to take part in a street race and to stay in the lead to force the Rollerz to hit their NOS so Samson's work can be seen. However, Troy has other plans for this. This is another easy mission from the Rollerz, all you have to do is stay near one of their cars for Troy to do what he's come along to do until the bar fills up - do this three times and you're done. Note that is easier to stay with the leader of the race and then fall back to pick off the second place and then third place, rather than starting with the one in last place and working your way up. Rewards: Chinatown Episode #05: Mission #03 Guardian Angel In this episode, Rian once again meets with Lin, this time at a tea house and she informs him of things. She believes things are going too slow and has devised a plan to get in close with the Rollerz leader. Donnie is the leader's best friend and she wants Rian to go after Donnie only for her to intervene and save him. This mission can be kind of difficult, if you're taken by surprise on rounding the corners. As you can run into a hail of bullets before adjusting your aim - however, so long as you bring a long some food it shouldn't be too bad. I also traded the gold-plated GDHC .50 for a standard Vice 9 to make the mission a bit more challenging. The car chase here isn't at all hard as Lin drives poorly, most likely on purpose. That is a pretty nice car she has at the beginning. lol She was rather pissed at those guys. She may get trigger happy before it's time to start taking them out. XD Lin doesn't seem like the type you should mess with. Taking out that big rig driver and stealing it made this mission way easy. Those guys in their small cars didn't have a chance. I can see what you were talking about in the description. You hear them shooting the whole time, but they aren't doing any damage. Sucks to be them! lol You're just along for a normal Sunday drive it seems. It was an easy $500. Lin is looking hot at the beginning. She has a sadistic side to her too, that's for sure. She seems pretty excited about watching the Rollerz cars go boom after they hit their NOS. Too bad Troy had his own plans. It was pretty interesting to see those cars blow up though. The race looked like it could have been tough in the beginning, but at the end it was just finding people to blow the hell up. lol It was a fairly boring mission it seems, but it was still amusing. Troy made me laugh a couple of times with his comments to the Rollerz while racing. I'm sure Chinatown will be fun to roam around in now though. Damn, first thing Lin wants to start doing more in order to destroy the Rollerz as fast as possible. She lays out a good plan, then leaves you with her bill at the place. XD I'd mess up her car for that though she told you not to. You are doing all the work in the mission though. Having to go around and kill all these people while everyone else is off doing nothing. Lin gets to look like the "hero" in the end too. It was a quick mission, but the cutscene around the 3 minute mark made me laugh. She didn't want you to scratch her car, but you put bullet holes in it. 8) She's all "motha fucka" *starts shooting with sub-machine gun* lol She might have actually killed you if you popped your head out! The driving portion after that was pretty uneventful. There was the one time near the end where you turned the wrong way, but a simple U-turn and 3 seconds later and the mission was over. It's nice you got a place out of it.

I get the Rollerz were trying to get their cars back, but they're trying to go blow to blow with a big rig in small cars. Not gonna work fellas. XD
Episode #06: Mission #04 - Escort Service
In this episode, after Lin's stunning 'escape' from Rian in the car chase, she phones him sometime later to inform him where she is and from there Rian heads over and spies on a meeting that introduces the leader of the Rollerz, Joseph Price and his uncle, William Sharp. Rian over hears that the Rollerz are planning on hitting a convoy and sets off to intervene.
Note: William Sharp is voiced by the late, great actor David Carradine, most notably known for his role in the TV Series, Kung Fu.
This mission isn't anything too spectacular, the only thing that may remotely give any trouble is the Notoriety gained throughout, but a Forgive & Forget is on the way to the last convoy, so swing by to erase it and protect the last convoy without any pesky extra Rollerz on you.
Rewards: $1,500
Episode #07 - Stronghold #01 - Pleasant View Storage
In this episode, once Lin has gotten in good graces with Donnie, she learns of a storage garage where the Rollerz keep some of their best cars. Julius gives Rian a call on his cellphone and wants him to find out just how good their insurance on said cars is.
This stronghold isn't hard but it isn't easy either. Its somewhere in between. Due to all the gun fire going on, its easy to take some damage, especially when the two Rollerz cars begin circling the storage garage. The best guns to have here is a SMG and a Shotgun, in my opinion. I mainly say these two because the SMG can tear the the Rollerz that are driving to shreds quickly and the shotgun can reduce the parked cars in the storage to a flaming wreckage with two or three shots.
Rewards: Pleasant View
Episode #08 - Mission #05 - One Step Ahead
In this episode, William Sharp is discussing things with his nephew, the leader of the Rollerz, about how he won't let Donnie ruin his plans - Joseph assures him that Donnie may be a little flaky at times, but comes through in the end. Donnie indeed does come up with a plan and shares it with all. Lin also has a heated moment with Sharp and after, calls Rian to inform him of the new plan.
This mission isn't anything too bad, so long as you've got a decent car and because I'm replaying these missions through the Movie Theater, that can be a little difficult at time, luckily, I got a somewhat fast car off of a civilian so everything went smoothly. The only bad thing of this mission is the timer that appears if you get outside the red circle, you've only got 10 seconds to get back in our risk a failed mission.
Rewards: $2,000

The cutscene in the beginning was funny, especially Lin slapping the crap out of that guy. lol I just hope they don't use gags like that in EVERY cutscene with her. It seems to be a trend so far. That car you grabbed got banged up quick. lol It was looking really bad when you switched. I'm fairly certain you had a flat almost right after you grabbed the 2nd car. It seems like it was pulling to the left the entire time. The 3rd car made me laugh a bit because of what was on the radio. The whole "Don't do drugs" speech was funny. The guy talking was so damn monotone. lol Donnie doesn't seem too bright from what I've seen of him in each cutscene. Always giving away plans and stuff. Lin hardly has to do any interrogating at all!
Well, so much for the high performance cars of the Rollerz. You just HAD to go and blow them all up! lol Those cars did look pretty nice though. I like how the car parts fly everywhere when they explode. It's a good thing you stayed out of the way of all the debris! The guy who got out of his car and started chasing you cracked me up. You just backed up over his fat ass! I guess he'll know not to get out of the car next time. XD The mission didn't seem too tough, but fun because you get to make things go BOOm! 8)
Lin seems to be getting a little attached to Donnie in that cutscene. It's a good thing that she continue to give tips on what they're doing. Seems like she may be crossing over to the other side. I'm sure we'll see if she does or not as the storyline progresses! She's a pretty tough chick, so it's good having her on the Saints side. It made me laugh when she flipped the old guy off. lol I hope he gets what's coming to him. There are a lot of driving missions it seems like. Not any real raids or anything from what I've seen except for maybe the warehouse. That last cutscene made things real interesting. I wonder what will happen to Lin now that they're on to her? Hmmm....

Well, don't look at me to spoil things. You'll have to find out by watching~
Episode #09 - Mission #06 - Liberation
In this episode, Rian is at the church, the home of the Saints, where Julius is congratulating him on his work so far, but there time is cut short as Rian receives a call from Lin and she tells him that the Rollerz are onto something big and to meet her at the pool hall, though everything is not as it seems.
There really isn't a lot to say about this mission. You're not on a timer or anything so you can take your time getting to the pool hall and the Rollerz inside the place don't pose too much of a threat, even if all you have is a Vice 9 and a Tombstone. All in all, for this far into the Rollerz story, this is a fairly simple mission. Run and gun in a closed in area.
Rewards: Ultor Dome
Episode #10 - Mission #07 Burying Evidence In this episode, Sharp puts his plan into full motion to take out the spy, Lin and her accomplice, Rian by locking them in the trunk of Lin's Voxel and doing something with the car after doing so. He also called Donnie to the scene.
This mission can be the hardest Rollerz mission so far or the easiest. It really depends how good you are at driving and keeping up with the Rollerz vehicle while damaging it at the same time. However, to make this mission extremely simple, buy a RPG from Friendly Fire and wait at the end of the road where you come out and blow the car to pieces, but I didn't want to do that, instead going the shoot'em down route.
Yay for this getting featured on the Saints Row Wiki. ^_^
Rewards: $3,000
Episode #11 - Stronghold #02 - Tidal Springs Apartments In this episode, Julius calls and informs Rian that some of the Rollerz have a court date coming up, and before Sharp's death, he was bribing them with money, as well as women, to plead in favor of the Rollerz. Julius doesn't want that happening so he sends Rian in to take out the jurors on payroll.
This stronghold, is relatively easily, though you are on foot the entire time of it. All you have to do is kill the jurors inside the apartments to finish it, however, after you kill a few jurors, you're given a 5 Star Notoriety with the police, which can be difficult but at the same time you can play it in your favor if you left plenty of Rollerz alive on the ground, as they will keep the FBI busy so you can run over to the other apartment building without too much trouble. All in all an easy stronghold, in my opinion.
Rewards: Tidal Springs

Uh oh. Things aren't looking good for Lin. Rian is heading right for a trap! That old bastard gets on my nerves. Hopefully he'll get shot in the face soon. lol He seems like a big perv considering his comments at the end of the first cutscene. It really sucks to be all those Rollerz in the pool hall. They messed with the wrong guy. I'm sure they thought numbers gave them an advantage. NOT the case here. I'm sure it really sucked getting hit with that baseball bat at the end though. Damn, that old bastard really needs to die. Opens up the trunk and just shoots Lin and Rian. Not even fatal shots though! He just does it to be a dick and right in front of Donnie too! I can understand why Donnie took off. They were in a real fix in the trunk of that car. Lin is falling for Donnie too judging by her reaction to what he said. I'm wondering what happened with the car though. One moment it shows it at the bottom of the river and the next Rian is surfacing. It didn't show the trunk open or what happened with Lin. :/ It was funny as hell how you blew up the car the old guy was in and then ran his ass over to send him flying 20 feet in the air to kill him. XD He deserved worse, but that works. That last vid is pretty short. Wasn't much to that mission. Had to kill some damn Rollerz trying to bribe jurors. I guess they'll be losing a lot of people for it instead of only the ones on trial. They haven't learned yet that you can't stop Rian. No matter how much they shoot that guy, he just won't die! Even tried locking him in a trunk and putting his ass at the bottom of the river and it didn't work. I expected to see SOMETHING about Lin there, but nothing. No idea what happened to her. Does it get explained? Is she dead? Alive? Confused!

Episode #12 - Stronghold #03 - Copperton Receiving Station In this episode, Julius phones Rian and alerts him that the Rollerz have been taking a lot of interest in the receiving station in Copperton and wonders just what they are up to, so, he sends him to find out.
This stronghold, can be a little tricky. The Rollerz Notoriety constantly increases during the Stronghold, only after a certain number of time passes on the clock however. You have to defend the Receiving Station for 3 minutes and then defeat a boss of sorts after. The Roller in the cab of the truck cannot be killed via gunfire, or at least I don't think they can, as I've tried several times over, so you have to destroy the truck itself.
Rewards: Copperton
Episode #13 - Mission #08 - No Time To Mourn In this episode, Lin's death has been revealed on the news, as her body was found floating in the river. Julius says that this time they are going to take the fight to the Rollerz, but Troy says they are going to have to have a change of plans on that, as the Rollerz are leading a convoy to burn Saints Row to the ground with Joseph Price leading the pack, infuriated over the death of his uncle.
This mission is, in my opinion, difficult. While the game does give you infinite ammo on every gun you have. The first half of this mission is insanely easy, just drive to the marker specified, that's when Julius will take the wheel and you will be in the passenger's seat. You have to take out 10 Rollerz cars before they reach Saints Row or the mission will fail. While the game does give you an RPG for this mission if you don't already have one, I opt not to use it, as the explosion from the Rollerz cars can damage the car you are in, and that's never a good thing.
Rewards: $4,000
Episode #14 - Stronghold #04 - Price's Mansion In this episode, Julius gives Rian another phone call, telling him that he doesn't want Joseph Price pulling the stunt he did on the highway again and sends Rian off to Price's Mansion to steal his Attrazione.
This stronghold, to me, is laughably easy. The first part of the mission is extremely easy as you're inside the mansion itself shooting down Rollerz, so you don't have to worry about a stray car hitting you or anything of the sort. The only difficulty that can be presented is after getting the keys to the car and getting the car itself, is the drive to the Forgive and Forget after stealing the car, as the Rollerz Notoriety with you is pretty high at that point, but to me, its just an easy stronghold to be the last Rollerz Stronghold.
Rewards: Joseph Price's Attrazione, Misty Lane

Lots of running and gunning at the beginning of this video. I'm assuming it's because of it being a stronghold. There were several times I thought Rian was going to get ran over. lol Things seemed to quiet down after the first minute and it was just sit and wait for them to drive up. It was smart to get on top of the box so you wouldn't get ran over. Too bad the Rollerz didn't learn any new tricks during this. You would think when they saw all of those cars piled up in one spot they might think it's best not to drive right up to them. There were a couple of times you escaped by the skin of your teeth against the "boss" in the big rig. Almost got ran over, but they ended up blown the hell up! Lin's dead. Not cool! Not cool at all damn it! Rollerz want to come and burn the Row to the ground now? Time to go fuck them up instead! That convoy is screwed! I like the way Julius thinks. He's a crafty one, picking them off from the back one by one. 8) It's good that you were able to shoot instead of having to drive. lol Those Rollerz didn't know what hit them and there was only 1 Saints car vs at least 10 of theirs. The Rollerz got what was coming to them. I think Rian must be invincible after seeing the wreck in that last cutscene. No telling how fast those cars were going and then his face met pavement and he instantly stopped! He should be dead! But, we've seen time and again that he just keeps getting up from all the crap he's been through. He can not be killed! I feel sorry for Price and Donnie when he finds them. Julius is angry and with good reason. Stealing Price's car should teach him a lesson. It's only a matter of time before it's him that's gone! The stronghold did seem rather easy. Whatever gun you had only took 1 shot to kill everyone no matter where they were hit. That car is pretty damn fast that you stole. I certainly wouldn't mind having one! I suppose that's why it was so easy to escape the Rollerz with it. Things certainly got a little more interesting there at the end. Time for a final showdown and to put the Rollerz to rest for good!

Yep. Joseph can't get away in his speedy car anymore now that it belongs to Rian. ;D
Episode #15 - Mission #09 - Semi-Charmed Life In this episode, after getting a phone call from Price himself, Rian heads over to the car dealership in Misty Lane where he is ambushed by Price driving a semi-truck, after narrowly escaping being roadkill, the chase ensues.
This mission, in my opinion, really ramps up the difficulty in the Rollerz storyline, and I guess it makes sense as it is the last mission in their line. While you are chasing Price in his truck, you have to blow the trailer off of the back of his semi-truck by blowing up the 4 cars on it, while avoiding the pipe bombs he throws out at you and while dealing with Rollerz from behind. That's why I brought along two partners, to keep the Rollerz at back in check so I could focus on Price himself. I also brought along my FBI Cruiser, as it's a sturdy vehicle as well as fast. Hell, it's all I used in the Racing Activities. All in all a nice challenge of a mission, I'm just glad I got it done in one go for this video.
Rewards: $5,000, The Price Mansion, Julius' Zenith, Lin's Voxel, Sharp's Justice, Donnie's Quasar

Rian barely escaped that damn semi! That was frakkin CLOSE! lol The music during the chase cracked me up. It gave it a unique perspective IMO. It worked for the chase, making it a little bit more awesome. Those pipe bombs were a bit of a pain in the ass and the other Rollerz coming after you during the chase. The cutscene after was pretty funny. We FINALLY got to hear Rian talk! Mimes talk more than that guy does. >.> I see finding the buyers leading into the next faction war. Have to keep tuning in to find out!

Part Three - Vice Kings Once a group of petty thugs formed to keep the Carnales out of Sunnyvale, the Vice Kings are now one of the most powerful gangs in Stilwater, no small thanks to revenues from their record label Kingdom Come Records. - From the games "Help" menu under "Gangs"
Episode #16 - Mission #01 - Aisha's Favor In this episode, Rian meets with Johnny and Dex in their office, but their time is cut short as Johnny gets a call from Aisha, claiming that someone kidnapped her sister right off the street. Johnny believes it to be the Vice Kings work, but Dex claims that that isn't Benjamin King's style. Johny sends Rian out after the car in question.
A laughably easy mission. There really isn't anything to it. After tailing the car its more of a run around mission and overall kind of boring, in my opinion.
Rewards: Bavogian Plaza
Episode #17 - Mission #02 - ...To Kingdom Come In this episode, Rian walks in on Aisha and Johnny discussing, or rather arguing, about something. Aisha is signed to Kingdom Come Records, which is owned by the Vice Kings, and she wants out, but once you are in there is no way to get out. Though, Johnny has a plan for it.
This mission isn't hard but it isn't easy either. If you leave Aisha's stalker alive, it can be kind of hard since you have to lose him and since your car is fitted with explosives, driving recklessly to get rid of the guy can be tricky... So just shoot him. Once he's gone, its relatively easy mission. Just get to Kingdom Come Records studio within the time limit.
Rewards: Union Square
Episode #18 - Stronghold #01 - Sunnyvale Loft In this episode, Rian gets a call on his cell phone from Julius, who says that some of Warren's men are going to be meeting to discuss getting in on a drug trade. He doesn't want that happening.
I dislike this stronghold. A lot. For it to be the first of the line, its definitely one of the hardest, in my opinion. Saying this, I brought along some back up to clear the way to the building. First its a run and gun and then you have to play sniper once you get to the top of the building. Sounds easy enough but the Vice Kings that swarm the place are equipped with assault rifles, snipers, and RPGs.
Rewards: Sunnyvale Gardens
