I know I shouldn't let it bother me but it does. It seems someone has taken it upon themselves to anonymously target and click the "Dislike" button on my recent play through/let's play of Yakuza. I honestly wish I knew who was doing it. I know it wouldn't matter if I knew but it would at least put me at ease knowing who it was. At least with the old Star Rating YouTube had I could see who rated, whether good or bad. Now I can't see either, at least not on the video page itself.
I figure it's a troll with nothing better to do as every single one of my Yakuza videos that I have put up since a couple of days ago has been marked. The only exception being the newest one which went live about 15 minutes ago as of me typing this sentence. Part 1 of the play through has 2 Dislikes, at that.
Why am I letting it get me worked up? I don't know. Honestly, it discourages me to see such a thing as all I'm trying to do is put out a visual walk through much like FAQ writers do a text walk through. What's so bad about that? I try to ignore it to the best of my ability but sometimes it just hits me. Its discouraging and frustrating to the point I sometimes want to disable ratings - at least that way the troll(s) would have to say something if they truly wanted to try and irk me.
Seriously this is what made my first project get a deletion. I got fed up with the assholes commenting and giving me crap for trying to help people that I axed it and my next project wasn't until about 6 months later, I'd say.
Sorry if this isn't the type of blog you guys were expecting but I just had to get it out. I'm still going to make the videos but I may disable ratings on Yakuza if this keeps up.
