OK so I really want to see this fight as the hype for it has been good IMO. As a new fan to MMA I don't really know much about Carwin but the way they billed this on the last UFC PPV I saw it looked like it could be the biggest fight in Heavyweight history. Not sure if it will be or not.
Who am I pulling for?
Brock Lesnar, not saying he definately will win, but I liked him as a wrestler and I want to see Lesnar be a success in UFC. From what I understand this will be a good test for Lesnar should he pass it.

I don't care what problems Brock Lesnar just went through medically, he's one of the most arrogant, cocky, egotistical fighters in UFC history.....anyone that trash talks someone after a match doesn't have respect for the sport. He can try to redeem himself all he wants but I don't buy it it's all fake bullshit......
I hope Shane Carwin puts Brock Lesnar back in the hospital by knocking him out so quickly that Lesnar won't know what happened to him.

That gives me another good reason to go with Lesnar then ;D.

I'm pulling for Lesnar in this one lol. I see Carwin being dangerous in the first round keeping it 50/50, but after that I see it as Lesnar being on top and I hope he does.
The only thing I think in question is Lesnar's chin and can Lesnar take down Carwin. Carwin on the other hand has just about everything, but his striking in question. And Lesnar has trained with Courture known for his clinching and dirty boxing. Lesnar by TKO in Round 2 in a potentially disappointing fight.
By the way, who has Lesnar trashed talked after a match? Only person I can think of is Frank Mir and I think Mir deserved it.

Mir has had 0 respect for Lesnar from the beginning not because Lesnar is a dick, but because he's a former professional wrestler. Mir talked shit mocking Lesnar for being a professional wrestler completely ignoring Lesnar's amateur wrestling background.
Mir vs Lesnar I Mir and Lesnar face off in their first match. Lesnar dominated Mir and only lost because Lesnar got over ambitious and left himself open. Mir talks more shit about Lesnar and being an ape and mocks him for being a former professional wrestler. Lesnar talks some shit, but focuses on how Mir won on a rookie mistake, and how Lesnar clearly dominated Mir, which is a valid point.
Mir vs Lesnar II Lesnar completely tears Mir apart leaving his face resembling hamburger meat. After fight, Lesnar gets in Mir's face and tells him to "Talk all the shit you want now". Now his actions afterward were distasteful, but I can let it slide given the emotion going into and during the fight that Lesnar obviously had building up, but what he said towards Mir was perfectly fine to me. And even after this, Mir still talks shit about Lesnar. How Lesnar only won because he's bigger. How Lesnar's punches don't hurt. Lesnar isn't as good of a fighter as him.
Mir vs Carwin Mir is obsessed with Lesnar. Keeps talking shit about Lesnar. Makes a comment about how he hopes Lesnar suffers the first death in the octagon and how he wants to break his neck. Mir was sinking so low, that most of the Lesnar haters decided rather than see Lesnar get knocked out they wanted to see Lesnar completely destroy Mir. Mir hardly even says anything about Carwin to where you'd think it was Mir vs Lesnar instead of Mir vs Carwin.
Mir deserves all the disrespect anyone in the UFC gives him, especially from Lesnar, and that embarrassing 1 round knockout Carwin gave him.

Frank Mir is one of the most respected heavyweights in the division, I agree with Mir 100% that if Brock wasn't a former steroided up gorilla that only really knows how to punch good that he'd have no talent. Lesnar isn't a well rounded fighter; he's just fists and weight, nothing more......for all that college wrestling he did, he sure doesn't use any.

Didn't Mir just totally look past Carwin and talk like the rematch between himself and Lesnar was a given? If that is true then Mir showed no respect for Carwin either.

If Lesnar only won because of his size, then Mir is admitting that his win over Lesnar was nothing but a fluke. And if Mir is so much better than Lesnar as he claims, why did Lesnar dominate him? If size is such an issue, why have other fighters moved up in weight class and done well?
Mir has no excuses on why he lost other than Lesnar had the better gameplan and executed his plan better. For Mir to get mad because Lesnar was able to take him down and ground and pound his face in, is as pathetic as Dan Hardy being mad at GSP for not brawling with him because he couldn't defend GSP's takedowns.

Well, Lesnar won via submission. I wish I could have seen it though.

You're not the only one lol. I read the results and Lesnar proved that he can take a punch lol. I know there are people who'll say Lesnar should have lost and the fight ended, but still have to be impressed with Lesnar lol.
Taking Carwin's best shots in round 1 and then getting the submission in round 2. Lesnar just showed off a big hole in Carwin's abilities.
Next up is Cain Velasquez. If Lesnar beats Velasquez then I think it'll be safe to say he's the top heavyweight in UFC.

It figures that on a wrestling related site you'd have people who see Brock Lesnar as the golden boy.

Well if we were fans of him as a wrestler what do you expect? For me he is the main reason I took an interest in UFC.

I don't like Lesnar in MMA because he's a former professional wrestler. I like Lesnar because from day 1 most of the fans shit on him for being a former professional wrestler and he gave it right back to the fans and their precious champion.
I respect the guy for not just rolling over for the fans, especially the ones who disrespected him right from the beginning.

Without making a big fuss about the whole deal. I will say one thing regarding Lesnar. Whether you love the man or hate him. He equals MONEY for the UFC. He's bringing in people who normally wouldn't give UFC a 2nd look. The very reason I'm starting to get into the MMA thing with UFC is because of Brock Lesnar. And also too, even though he's not in UFC. I'd like to say that Bobby Lashley is another reason I'd watch. Bottom line is. These guys are bringing in a whole new fan base. Which is going to make alot of money for UFC and Strikeforce respectively.
Look at UFC 116 for example. You had Stone Cold Steve Austin, Bill Goldberg, Jim Ross, The Rock, & Paul Heyman all under one roof in attendence to watch the fight take place. Clearly, as most you well know. They were there to support Brock Lesnar. But the fact is. Not even Vince McMahon could have pulled that off by having that many big wrestling personalities under one roof for one big night.
To me overall. Its all for good business for UFC and the world of MMA in general. I'm not saying guys who were homegrown talent like Frank Mir, Shane Carwin, Rampage Jackson and so on aren't worth watching. They are all tremendous fighters. But right now, as I type this. Brock is the man, and will continue to be the man for years to come whether he has a belt around his waist or not.

Simply for this I lost all former respect for Mir I had. Fuck the guy, he's a douche. Now don't get me wrong I don't really like Brock either, but he's had shit spewed on him from day one, I think he deserves to throw it back in their face after he smashes it in and Mir definitely deserved it. I know I sure as hell would if any of the girls in the circuit I'm apart of decided to just start shit talking me constantly. The moment I beat her I'd throw all back at her while she's trying to recover from having her head bashed in. Its called karma.
